Relevant education

Throughout my adult life I have been eager to learn more - both in theory and in practice. The following courses and programs have helped my development and shaped me with multidisciplinary experience both in the classroom and outside.

  • Impact Investment Management program by ANDE. This week long program offers a deep dive into impact investment and took place in Johannesburg in 2015. This led to my role as investment manager with Enviu.

  • THNK Executive Leadership. This 6 months immersive program features 4 on-site weeks of intense learning and development. Many call it transformational, and it leaves you with a deep understanding of who you are as a leader and how you build on your strengths. This program impacted our decision to sell our house and move to Rwanda, to build and lead a team with our fin-tech startup. The program was in 2018.

  • Behavioral Science for Fin-techs. This 3 day course hosted by Cenfri in Capetown, funded by a.o. the Gates Foundation, affected our product and operations immensely. It led to a partnership in Ghana with Cenfri, and to the development of our goal setting and automated savings product in Rwanda. Completed in ‘19.

  • Last Mile Distribution. This online program during covid-19 enabled me to rethink our agent strategy in Rwanda, and gave great insight into how to reach the right audience. The coffee farmers we worked with were a 5 hour drive from Kigali. Completed in ‘21.

  • WFT Basis. This course on the financial market in the Netherlands concerns law and legislation, banking and insurance, and general financial skills. With this diploma I am able to advise customers about financial services in the Netherlands. Completed in ‘22.

  • Novilo ‘Leren 2.0’. This specialization module of 3 on-site days will give me the basis needed for my start-up BrightPath, and to better understand how to build the right content and tools. Starting in Feb ‘23.
